The concept of the Mind, Body and Soul tour is to bring greater attention to visitors on local perceptions on life, mortality, the self in physical and mental form, as well as community and how these have changed or shifted over time. The Mind, Body and Soul tour touches on religion, spirituality, medicine and moral code. The tour includes private transport and one meal.

Where We Go

We will meet at an intimate tea hous, snuck away from the city traffic to break the ice and talk about the forthcoming itinerary.

We’ll relieve any ailments and aches with a trip to a traditional practitioner and apothecary. While there, we will discuss the influence of China and France on past and present practices of medicine.

We go through the concept of ancestor worship and understanding its relationship to Vietnamese practices. There after, we visit the Nam Giao esplanade which was a designated space for ceremonies led by the former emperor. We also look at how Daoism affected the urban planning of Hue during the Nguyen Dynasty.

The final part of the tour includes a vegan meal followed by a visit to the pagoda where we will learn more about the strands of religion prominent in Vietnam as well as a specific practice of Buddhism.
